William Waugh born 1810 moved to australia in 1857 with an adult family. Francis Waugh ( perhaps his brother ) moved to Canada. They lived in Tempo Ratoran at one stage and have scattered records in Magheracross . William Waugh died in 1839( Cof I tempo records) and his wife ann died in 1842(Cof I tempo records). There were Waughs in Galloon and upper Inismacsaint but have no evidence of a connection to the Tempo Waughs

Any information or search ideas welcomed

thanks

  • Dear Mike

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

I haven't been able to find a baptism for William in Fermanagh. Has his death record provided any  further information?

    Best wishes

  • Thanks for the welcome Clare. The Waughs with buriel records at the Cof I Tempo lived in Ballyreagh but obviously had connections to Tempo. I assume they are the parents of the William Waugh born in 1810in Ratoran whose family line in Australia is well documented. They migrated in 1857 with their adult family. William Waugh(1810) married Jane Lindsay in 1830 in Tempo. Unfortunately we have no other clues from this generation except the Francis Waugh who married Ann Kirk in 1835(magheracross) whose canadian family line is well documented. Hope to visit your area one day just to see where our ancestors lived

    regards
