I am searching for the Irish paternal ancestors of my son. Bernard Martin and Bridget Agnes McGuire were married in Irvinestown in 1899 and emigrated to America in 1907 on the Saxonia, disembarking in Boston, Massachusetts.  Family oral history said that they hailed from  the area around Galway and, at one time, spelled the surname as McMartin.  Having lost all his father and his father's family, he is anxious to know from whence he came so any hints or suggestions would be appreciated and valued. Thank you!

  • Mr. Graham-this is so exciting!  I'm sure it is as they did have a daughter, Annie, born in 1901!  This gives me Bernard's parents names as well as their actual home details-I can not tell you how excited I am to share this with my son!  Many, many thanks to you, sir!

  • Can't seem to find Bernard or wife Elizabeth in 1911. Perhaps they emigrated with Bernard jnr, or they both died.
