I am traveling to Galway in October 2016 and I would like to find out if there are any relatives in the Burke family that are related to my ancestors Edmund1729, Richard 1758, Richard and Thomas 1805. They are direct relatives to my father James Burke born in Boston. I am living in Boston ma. and have done a great deal of research and history on the family . Would love to meet anyone who is a distant relative. Kathryn Burke Berardi

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
We currently do not have a parish liaison for Abbeyknockmoy parish. I did find a link for the Abbeyknockmoy RC church of St. Bernards. http://www.abbeyknockmoy.ie/home/our-parish/churches/abbeyknockmoy
The online Irish phone book https://www.eirphonebook.ie/# which is only a partial list of phone users, has 390 Burke entries which is not surprising considering the surname is very common in Galway. You may want to scan the records to see if there are any Burkes in the Abbeyknockmoy area. Make sure you use the Residential Tab.
Have you had your DNA tested? If you have, you may want to consider asking Burkes in the Abbeyknockmoy area to have their DNA tested to see if you have a distant match. Your ancestors have been gone for 200 years so any connections would be 4th or 5th cousins.
Let me know if you have any questions.
