I was not sure what info you were looking for. I located the 1901 census record for the family and since there were a number of Mitchell and Leonard families in Lissyegan, I gave you a link to the entire townland. Same for 1911. You will note that Thomas Sr. was not in the 1911 census. He died two months earlier in January. The last link will take you to a page which includes his death record at age 88. You will have to sign-in to see the record.

Thanks Roger- I have all this information already. I visited Ireland with the U S National Genealogical Society back in Sept 1999. We had an intro to records for about 8 days in Dublin and then my daughter joined me and we drove to Mayo (my grandmother's roots) and then to  Galway (my grandfather's roots) . I was lucky enough to find relatives in Mayo but it seems all my Mitchells had left. Did connect with Leonards though and other really friendly people. One elderly lady -with no known relationship- wandered thru graveyards with me and that is when I found my 1797 Darby Mitchell.

I was hoping to make some conections with this site. Thank you for your help.  Joan

Of all the children in the Mitchell family only one stayed in Ireland/Galway/Ahascragh that was Celia and she married Michael Downey born abt 1870 in 1901- they had 6 boys by  the 1911 census Andrew, Jack, Thomas, James, Michael and Francis and I believe Her Mom Mary Mitchell Leonard age 75 is also in the household.
