  • Hello Sue,

I went to www.rootsireland.ie and found the marriage record for John Egan and Anne Dempsey in 1889.

I then went to the baptismal records and left the first name blank and put in both parents names.

    They had 7 children....

    Daniel Henry born 1890

    Patrick Albert born 1892

Patrick Gilbert born 1892   Either twins or the first baby died early in the year and other born later in year

    Mary Josephine born 1894

    Anne born 1896

    Norah Angelina born 1898

    John Albert born 1901

I found them in the irish census (free online) .  they are in Woodford in 1901 and in 1911.  When you look at these records make sure to scroll down the page and look at the originals.

Hope this helps you in some way,

    Kind regards,

    Anne Dennehy

  • Thanks I did have all those children except Patrick Albert for whom I have only seen a death record in 1892. I have the obituary for Patrick Gilbert ( Fr. Gilbert Egan) I would like to find out more about the other children. In the obituary it lists his brother John and sisters Anne and Nora. Anne was single and Nora Angelina was married to WIlliam Knowles of Scotland. Either in Galway or the country.Nora and William had 3 children, Anne, Paula and Gerald as of 1956. I do not know anything about any of them apart from that. I have found a Daniel Egan in WW1 records from an Irish regiment. Any help on the marriage of Nora and William and any death records for any of the above would be very helpful. They are all linked to the sister, Honoria Goonan Egan of my great great grandfather Henry Goonan. Thanks Sue Australia
