I’m looking for information about Joyce and Shiel ???

The paid site, Roots Ireland, has their 1855 marriage record, but only the witnesses names are given - P. Nuel & Honor Flaherty. I did not find any children for them on that site, however on the irishgenealogy.ie site, I did find another daughter - Honoria. Her civil birth record is attached - second entry. It is curious that their three known children were born in 1866, 1869, and 1873 - quite a few years from their 1855 marriage date. As you are probably aware, Thomas was a landholder, and the family appears in the 1901 census living in Carrowmanagh, Dunmore, Galway. In that census record is a 6 year old granddaughter named Bridget Ruane - possibly the daughter of Honoria.

The baptismal records for the RC parish of Dunmore began in 1833, so if Bridget was born prior to that year, you are out of luck. I did find a record, but first I want to share what I also found....these "could" be her and her husband's relations. On Roots Ireland, there is a baptismal record for a Mary Joyce, 17 Mar 1859, to Thomas Joyce and Jane Sheel (a variation of Shiel). There residence is also Carramanagh. The sponsors are Patrick Sheel and Catherine Joyce. Jane and Patrick might be Bridget's siblings, but there is no way to confirm that as they could also be cousins, and this Thomas Joyce and the sponsor Catherine Joyce could be some relation to your Thomas.

Also, there is this baptism record on Roots Ireland: Bridget Sheill baptised 16 Feb 1835 to parents Thomas Sheill & Bridget Donelan, residence Flaskagh Beg, Dunmore. Sponsors are Thomas Commons & Catherine Donelan. Again, there is no way of knowing if this is your Bridget.
