I am looking for the maiden name of the mother of my Great Great Grandfather John Collins, who was most likely born about 1843 in Pollshask, Parish of Templetogher, Galway, Ireland. The father of John Collins was Thomas Collins, son of Francis Collins, both most likely born in or around Lettera/Carrolough, Galway, Ireland (near Williamstown).
I am also looking for the maiden name of the mother of my Great Great Grandmother Honor Moore, who was most likely born about 1843 in Cashel, Galway, Ireland. The father of Honor Moore was named William according to the 1870 marriage of Honor Moore and John Collins (above), which was registered in Glenamaddy, Galway.
Any help would be truly appreciated!
Mike Amoroso, great grandson of Mary Ann Collins, daughter of John Collins and Honor Moore

Mike:
Roots Ireland has marriages for Boyounagh/Glennamaddy RC parish starting in 1838. I checked for Thomas Collins marriages and received no record. Since John was born in 1843, it is possible that the parents were married before 1838 which would mean that no marriage record exists. Since, Roots does not have the baptisms for Boyounagh/Glennamaddy,you may need to contact the church directly to see if they have the John Collins baptism which should show the parents names.
You could use the same process for the baptism for Honora. As I mentioned in my prior response to your June 13th message, if you get a copy of the 1870 marriage record for John and Honora, it will show Honora's fathers name.

Roger,
Mea culpa! I had forgotten that we had the name of Honor Moore's father (William) from the 1870 marriage that my cousin found after your initial post several days ago. I've edited the posting/message to include this information.
Thanks also for the parameters of what records exist and how we might pursue the information.
In addition to pursuing leads for records, we are casting a wide net to find someone who may have first-hand knowledge of our family lineages. And so, the chase continues.
