Looking for any info regarding a William Plover who died in Loughrea in either 1846 or 1848 (I don't have my info with me so I'm not sure.) He may have had a son William and/or a son named Honor.

Can you tell us any more details please. There is a Plower family locally here in Loughrea, and they may be connected.
Where did these people emigrate to for instance?
Many thanks,
Mike

Thanks for your interest. Here is what I know for sure. William Isaac Plover (born about 1836/7) emigrated to New York in 1855 aboard the Bark Clarence. His naturalization papers said he was from Galway. He lived in, among other unknown places, Calaveras Co, CA; Gold Hill, Story Co, NV; and Sonoma Co, Ca, where he died in 1900.
I have not been able to find him in Ireland yet, but have found a William Plover who died in Loughrea (Gurane/Garraun Township) in 1848. I have also found an Honor Plover in Loughrea at about that time, who was a little older than my William, and who had been arrested for something like public drunkenness (I can't find that info now, but I'm pretty sure about it).
That's all I know, although I've found various other Plovers in Loughrea (Griffith's Valuation 1848 - 1864, and Slater's Commercial Directory 1881)
I have tried multiple times to contact the Catholic Church there about records, with no response...
Does any of this info help?

Hello LL.
I have ordered the following microfilms from a local LDS (Morman) Family History Library. I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It cost me (back in 2008) $5.50 for a 6 week "rental". I then re-ordered it 2 more times, and is now in the permanent library collection at this church. It took about 2 weeks to get the film from Utah, but other times I have ordered film it was here in a week.
I spent almost a year, averaging 4 hours a week, sitting in front of their microfilm reader, copying all the pages that had my family name (Sweeney) in the record. The images are hard to read for the older dates (going back to 1820's). The priests wrote in Latin, but never converted the surnames to Latin equivalents. Once you get used to a priest's handwriting, you can scan the pages easier, just focussing on the surnames listed. Copies are .25 each (here locally---different churches, called "stakes", might have different pricing.)
