I have been looking into my father's genealogy, Keogh, Byrne, McCormick and Cain who are from Galway and Mayo.
I am now looking into my mother's side, Gallagher, Mulloy, Broderick and Hynes, all from Galway.
We found that our ancester Martin Broderick married Hanora Madden at St. Brigids about 1845 having my 2nd great-grandmother, Eliza Broderick about 1847. (Sometimes U.S. records list them as Brodrick).
They must have immigrated to USA about 1850. Four other children lived and passed in Louisville, Kentucky. Eliza married a John Broderick in Louisville (both had same surname) who was also born in or near Portumna. They established a family in Nashville where I live.
John's father was also John Broderick, and his mother was Bridget Ronan, but we aren't certain where they were married in Galway.
Would like to know more about the Broderick's and Madden's and Ronan's from there.
