I am interested in genealogy for Eastern Galway (Portumna). I am related to the Whelan's and Larkin's of the area. Any help you can give will be much appreciated.

Hello Margaret, my great-great-great-grandparents were Patrick Whelan (c.1796 - 1877) & his wife Honora Larkin of Tonroe, co. Galway, near Oranmore. Their son was Peter Whelan (1834 - 1905) of Tonroe & Tawin Island, c. Galway. If these are the same as your family I'd be happy to share more info,
