Can you provide some names and ages? Can't find an official townland called Glarryford or Gloryford anywhere in Co. Galway.. No Russell records in the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Templetogher parish. No Russells in Templetogher parish in the 1901 census.

What I have is my great great grandmother, Mary M Russell born March 9 1867 in Gloryford to Thomas and Mary Thompson Russell. I believe Thomas was born in County Antrim. Mary left Ireland for America in 1886 or 87.

I searched for a baptismal record for Mary and also a civil birth record in the Glenamaddy registration district but had no success. I then searched on Roots Ireland for all of Ireland with the parents names you provided and no luck. Same with a search for the marriage record.

One of our other volunteers, Shane Wilson, who is very knowledgeable with OSI maps found Gloryford within the townland of Derrywode in Templetogher parish.So Gloryford is a sub-townland of Derrywode. Let me know if the link below does not work.

I am also a descendant of Mary Maymie Russell. She was Catholic and was born around 1867. She was born March 09. I have never found baptismal records or passage records for her. She left from Galway Bay around 1887. Her mother's maiden name was Mary Thompson. She had an Aunt whose maiden name was Elizabeth Robert also born in Ireland.

Trying to located my relatives. My Grandmother was Mamie Elizabeth Kindig,born in Iowa USA around 1901.   Her mother was  Mary Russell born in Gloryford Ireland March 9, 1867, she came the the USA in 1885 and marries Adino Barclay Kindig on Feb. 23 1888.  

Mary's mother was Mary Thompson and her father wa Tom Russell

Pamela, I have info for you on both Mary and Mamie. Too much info to put here. Is there a way to contact you? Mamie would be my great great aunt.
