I am researching my (6x) Great Grandmother, Mary Donnelly from Tiranascragh Parish, County Galway, Ireland, born 1827 and family.  Her parents are not known.

She married Patrick Martin, born 1812, Parish not known, County Galway, Ireland.

Marriage and immigration dates not known.  Known children born in America.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Best Regards,

Mitzie

  • Col, Thank you for the research of my ancesters.  My next step would be to contact Galway and see what records they could locate.  I'll start that process this week. Hopefully I will find the missing pieces that will lead me back to Ireland.

  • Hi Mitzie, I am the Chairperson of Ireland XO - but also Tiernascragh is my home parish.  There is a well established Donnelly family in the Parish and they will no doubt be interested to hear from you. I'll see if I can connect you online. Will be in contact... Mike

  • Hi Mike,

I can not express my gratitude enough for your assistance in search of my DONNELLY family.  And yes, I would be interested in corresponding with a DONNELLY connection in Tiernascragh. This line of DONNELLY married a MARTIN line.

In your previous email you referenced a MITCHELL line.  Unfortunately, to my knowledge that is not my line.  For the family looking for that information I needed to clear that up.

MARTIN was a larger family throughout Galway and further back ROBERT MARTIN,  "Tribe of Fourteen". This my be a challenge to isolate my line. I have wondered if there are any geneology books and/or reference material on the MARTIN line from ROBERT MARTIN.  I have been working on it.  But haven't been able to track the line successfully to America, as yet.

Well, this was to be a quick thank you and a note to clear up the MITCHELL connection and I have rambled on.  Not to take up any more of your time but to express my gratitude for your assistance. Thank you.

    Best Regard,

    Mitzie (TnLass)
