I found the following records on the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie

John was baptized May 9 1850 in Castlegregory. Address was shown as Ballyduff.

Sister Ellen baptized May 27 1855 address Glenahone

Sister Ellen baptized November 18 1857 address Teervrin (likely 1655 Ellen died young)

Sister Mary baptized September 2 1860 address Teervrin

Brother Michael baptized August 30 1863 address Teervrin

Sister Honora baptized February 14 1867 address Glenahone

Brother Thomas December 6 1870 address Teervrin

John Kennedy of Teervrin married Mary Kearney of Ballyduff on February 11 1873.

  • Thank you Roger.  This John Kennedy's parents were John Kennedy and Mary Sugrue.  They must have married ~1848 or 1849 but I can't find a marriage record for them.  Please let me know if you find that.

  • Diane:

I did not find the marriage. Marriages for Castlegregory go back to 1829  https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0660  and I searched on two sites and did not find the record. Marriages were held in the bride's parish and maybe Mary was from the parish to the south Annascaul where marriages start in 1855.

  • Thank you Roger.  That is certainly possible.  I've also been told that sometimes the priest didn't always record every event.
