Attached is the civil birth record for John and I believe the marriage record for his parents. He was born in the RC parish of Tuoist which borders the RC parish of Eyeries in Cork. It was customary for the couple to marry in the bride's parish. Note that the birth record shows George for his father's name, but the marriage record shows Jeoffrey. You can find further online records for the family on irishgeneaology.ie under the civil records tab. The registration district to input is Kenmare.

Per RootsIreland (paid subscription), John was born Feb.5, 1874 in Eskadawer, Tuosist, Kerry. He was baptized Feb. 7. His parents were Thomas Donoghue and Margaret Connor. His siblings were Patrick 1867, Michael 1869, and Geoffrey 1871 (I found him, as well as John, on Irishgenealogy- Church Records Welcome to Irish Genealogy - Irish Genealogy).

 I apologize, John 1874 was Geoffrey's brother. Geoffrey was born Oct. 26, 1871 and baptized Oct. 28.

Geoffrey died in 1926. His son John witnessed.

Since they were buried in Lauragh, maybe they went to St. Killian.
