James KELLY was born according to various records of his children's births in about 1822 in Coghlanstown, Kildare, Ireland
According to his death certificate his parents were John KELLY and Mary KELLY
He married Isabella GRIFFIN in Naas 02 Feb 1847 and emigrated firstly to South Australia in abt 1847 and then to Sandhurst [Bendigo] Victoria abt 1856-7
Children
John, Henry, Annie Agatha, Mary Agnes, Margaret Francis, Isabella Agatha,[ all born South Australia] Ellen Magdelene, Elizabeth Ann, Jane, Theresa Augusta, Cecila Alice, Catharine Ada and James [all born in Victoria]
James died as a result of accidental drowning in 1869 [ he was keeper of the local resevoir]
I would be grateful to hear of any connections or be able to confirm his birth.

Coghlanstown belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Ballymore-Eustace and fortunately church records for the parish begin 1779 so you may be able to find James? birth record in the parish which would help confirm his birth there.
Most Catholic records are still held locally so it may be an idea to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. Alternatively, as you can see in the link above Wicklow Family History Centre have copies available from 1792 so you could also contact them. However please note a fee may apply.
