I am researching my paternal KIRBY line, who originated in Co.Limerick. My grandfather was James KIRBY, born 1857 in Ballynagarde (Skule Bog), parish of Donoughmore. James was the son of John KIRBY and Ellen RYAN, who married 19.2.1855 in the RC parish of Fedamore (witnesses:Richard Regan and Judith Wilmoth). Going back from that event has been tricky, because I have no conclusive evidence, so far, despite a deep search. However, it appears that John may have been the son of Daniel and Ellen KIRBY, but I have a list of about five possible people. I’d like to eliminate some of those so I can trace back further on my direct line. I would like to link up with other folks researching KIRBYs in Limerick - so we could at least eliminate some from the lists. I have got some lists of KIRBY baptisms and marriages copied out from the Limerick archives, so may be able to help fellow researchers - but my lists are not complete!
Looking forward to hearing from anybody on a similar search.
All the best
