I'm researching the Ardiff surname. Since it's such a rare surname, I'm interested in any and all information.

They origanaly came from the Leixlip area, but a few moved to the Kilmainham area of Dublin in the mid 1800's.

Any knowlage or connection to this surname would be greatly apreciated.

  • Hi dln,

My wife is an Ardiff (via her mom) and if your father is one of the Leixlip gang that came to the states, then your father and my wife are probably 4th cousins.  My wife is from Dublin (Clondalkin) and we were married in Leixlip in 2002.

I have become fasinated with the Ardiff surname becouse every Ardiff world wide can be traced to Leixlip.  It's the only surname that I have ever seen that has that exact grographic origan.
