Am looking for information about my great grandmother, Mary Bridget POWELL CASEY, My information is that she was born in MULLAGHROE (which I think may be in Sligo?) in 1845. She married Patrick CASEY (don't know where he was born) who worked for the Irish Railway. They lived the last part of their lives in MOONE, Co. WICKLOW. Have no information on them beyond this and would love to hear from anyone with knowledge of this place and/or the Powell's and/or even information about the Irish railroad in the mid-late 1800's.

FYI. There are quite a few Mullaghroe townlands in Ireland including Mullaghroe Lower and Mullaghroe Upper townlands in Lackagh civil parish Co. Kildare not far from Moone civil parish.

Thanks so much. This seems to make a lot more sense, that she would have been born in a place much closer to Moone that the Mullaghroe in Sligo. I will be coming to Ireland in Nov and plan to drive to the Moone area -- will try to find more information between now and then on the POWELL family and perhaps I can even find these Co Kildare Mullaghroe's and some gravesites.
