Inistioge ,is a small scenic village in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is situated on the River Nore, 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Kilkenny. Historically, the name has been spelt as Ennistioge, Ennisteage, and in other ways.
Inistioge has been the scene for a number of films, most notably Circle of Friends and Widows' Peak. The picturesque Woodstock Estate is located one mile (1.6 km) outside the village.

George Brown, Manchester based communist and member of the International Brigades in the Spanish Civil War was born at Ballyneale outside Inistioge in 1906. He was killed in the Battle of Brunete, Spain in 1937. An annual George Brown memorial weekend has been held in Inistioge since 2008. Nora Sands, of Jamie's School Dinners fame, is a native.Lieutenant Walter R.P. Hamilton V.C., leader of the Guides at the Residency in Kabul, who was killed during the Second Anglo-Afghan War, came from here.
