My ancestor Martin Cody was convicted of sheeping stealing and sentenced to transportation, arriving in Australia in 1829. His wife Ellen (Eliza/Elizabeth) then known as Alice in Australia, and their daughter Mary were brought to the colony as family of a deserving convict, arriving in 1839.

On the application form for convicts' families, Ellen's location is Messrs B & Wm Hatford, Shortles Graig. (Shortley Craig). and she is known to Rev H Caulfield, Kelmannan Glebe. On the GenUki website is states there are two townlands Graigue (Hartford) and Graigue (Hayden) and a glebe-house of Rev Hans Caulfield.
Is it possible to let me the exact location of the above named townlands? I will be in Ireland at the end of September with a possible date of either the 30th Sept/1st Oct in Kilmanagh.

Hopefully you have access to Google Maps. Enter Kilmanagh Kilkenny. When you get the map look south and you will see Graigue (Hartford) and a little bit to the west of Graigue (Hartford) you will see Graigue (Hayden). The Only Glebe I see is Banse Glebe to the northwest of Kilmanagh.
