County Laois, or Laois in Irish, was once known as Queen's County. Located in the midlands of Ireland, it is home to the River Nore and the River Barrow which provide excellent angling. Our county town is Portlaoise and we have a population of approximately 80,559. We look forward to helping you connect with your ancestors’ place of origin.
