I am trying to locate information on the family of my great-great grandmother, Anne Bergin.
Her family emigrated from County Laois to the Miramichi area in New Brunswick, Canada between 1818 and 1822.
Her father, John Bergin, was born in County Laois @1787. He married Elizabeth McLaughlin and the couple had at least three children born in Ireland. Finton, born @1808; Patrick(Jon's ancestor I believe) born 1812; and Anne born @ 1816. The Bergins were Roman Catholic.
John Bergin came to the Miramichi area in 1818. Elizabeth, Finton, Patrick and Anne came in 1822.
I have reviewed the link to Roots Ireland and it looks like two John Bergins were born in 1787 in the parish Rathdowney.
I haven’t had any luck on Roots Ireland locating a marriage certificate for John Bergin and Elizabeth McLaughlin.
I have seen the post by Jon Bergin and the response. I am posting her to see about other connections in Laois.
Looking for any guidance available. Thank you.

Dear Librarian
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I haven't been able to locate a marriage for John and Elizabeth either on Rootsireland. There are 191 entries on the Tithes for a Bergin in Co. Laois and John's siblings/father might be one of them - quite a few are for Rathdowney but I am not sure if your reference above is an educated guess or just the baptism records available. John would have been in Canada at this time.
Did you manage to locate a marriage record for her or any of her siblings in New Brunswick?
Best wishes
Clare Doyle
