I don't know John Conroy's dates only his name from Patrick Conroy (son) marriage entry, and

Patrick's birth in c1866 in Pallas (Ballyfin) Laois. I believe John's wife was Mary Delaney, odd because his son Patrick married Teresa Delaney.

As you say there are many John Conroy's with sons Patrick and wife Mary Delaney in Laois. I checked the Cappinrush parish records (aka Ballyfin) and found a possible marriage 1864. If it helps I believe John and Mary had another son Michael born c1872. It would help if there are any cemetery records in/near Pallas.

Patricia. Thank you for your suggestions. I haven't been able to find these in irishgenealogy.ie. after short search. Looked in marriages but records only up to 1862 Cappinrush (aka Ballyfin). I was interested in Ballyfin cemetery on Find A Grave website but didnt find anything for the periods concerned. 

Knew about Michael Patrick as appears on a family tree linked to my Ancestry dna matches.

I was told Michael and John his dad, worked on the railways. I also found a Catherine, James, John and Julia Conroy with same parents before my Ancestry expired.
