  • Hi Deb,

I also have Johnston's in Rossinver.  Rachel Johnston married James Mackay (son of Mathew Mackay) and Glasgow Johnston was a witness.  Rachel was the daughter of James Johnston.  They had a daughter, Rachel (my great grandmother) who married James Sprague.  James Sprague died in Louth and Rachel remarried and emigrated to Connecicut.   I had also researched  Glasgow trying to determine if he was a brother to James, but have not made the connection.  I had Arthur as his father, but didn't have the mother's name.   Susan, the  daughter of Elizabeth Johnston and Stephenson Whitten, married Robert Mackay/Mackey, son of Rachel Johnston and James Mackay) in 1907  and emigrated to Connecticut.

  • I am connected to these Johnstons but I don't know how. LOL! Can't decide whether I should start my own post or add to this thread. Think I'll start my own ... since I'm probably rather far afield.
