I would be grateful for any help with uncovering information about my great grandfather David Larkin's (b 1862 Limerick) family. He and his brothers, Fr Thomas Larkin (b Abbeyfeale 1864), and Fr John Larkin (b 1852) emigrated to the United States.
I have been able to trace back thru Roots Ireland that their parents were James Larkin and Johanna King. I would like to uncover additional resources I could use to gain information on the parents and also if there are related Larkins in the area today. I have not been able to uncover any information as to Johanna King's family.
Thanks for your help!

May I first begin by drawing your attention to another query - Looking for Ford & King.
This is also directed at Abbeyfeale area. This person is looking for information on their 3rd great grandparents John Ford and Mary King.
John and Mary first child Catherine was born in 1864 in Abbeyfeale, their second child was called Johanna, and their third child was called Mary. Okay common names but was just wondering if your Johanna King married to james Larkin and this Mary King married to John Ford were related, sisters maybe, or not related at all.
Could I suggest to contact this person to see if one side of your family tree is linked. The query user name is Vince - vincesalvati

Additional resources
http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=nameSearch
This is a survey carried out for tax purposes of those that owned or were renting property in Ireland in late 1850's to early 1860's. For Abbeyfeale area the survey years was 1852/1853.
Working from information you have you could search for your great grand uncles or aunts in the 1901 and 1911 census, to sketch out possible links to relatives today.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ assuminmg they remained in Ireland.
Your great grandfather David (1862), his brothers and sisters Johanna (1867), Thomas (1864), Michael (1859), Timothy (1856), Margaret (1854), John (1852), Honora (1851), Mary (1849) and James (1848)
The following website may help trace possible relatives where the census ends. https://familysearch.org/search
If you wish to look up information on your great granduncles following site may be of assistance http://limerickdioceseheritage.org/thanks.htm
If I can be of further assistance please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Nancy
As pointed out in the other response I am looking for my Ford and King ancestors. Mary King, born about 1846, was my 3rd great grandmother. I don't know her siblings or parents (yet). They did have Catherine, Johanna, Mary, John, Thomas, Margaret, Harry, Nellie, William, Elizabeth and Jeremiah. I am not sure which were born in Ireland and which in the US because there is conflicting documents but I know the first few were born in Ireland starting in 1864.
I am not even sure where John Ford and Mary King were born. Since the Griffiths valuation shows Fords in 1852 there is a decent chance one of them is John's father but there are no Kings listed so I am gussing they lived in a nearby town.
If I come across any more info on the King family I will let you know. Please do the same.
Regards
Vince

Hi Nancy
James Larkin 1818-1890 was married to Johanna King. 3 children that I know of Mary Julia 1849, James 1848 and Margaret 1854. Julia married Timothy Larkin 1849 of Ahawilk Feoghnagh on 11th April 1874 in Templeglanton and they lived at Cleanglass North and had 11 children. Julia gave Doonakenna Templeglanton as her address on the marriage cert. My relationship is to Timothy. If I can be of any further help please let me know. Check out irishgenealogy.ie
