Looking for information on the Ford/King family.
My 3rd great grandparents were John Ford and Mary King. They were born in the 1840s and had some of their children in Abbeyfeale and some in the United States starting around 1864 with Catherine.
Their children are Catherine, Johanna, Mary, John, Thomas, Margaret, Harry, Nellie, William, Elizabeth, Jeremiah.
Any assistance would be great.
Thanks
Vince

Hi
On RootsIreland.ie website it only lists Catherine born in Abbeyfeale in 1864, it doesn't list any more children for John Ford & Mary King.
There is a John Ford listed as born in 1835 in Abbeyfeale (RC) parish. And there is a Mary King listed as born in 1842 in Abbeyfeale (RC) parish. These may or may not be your third great grandparents.
These records are available online from a fee paying website. It cost nothing to register and you get 100 free credits. To view each of these birth records cost 25 or 15 credits, there is an offer on at the moment. If you wish do that and it may give you more information your looking for.
From Griffiths Valuation in 1852 for Abbeyfeale it lists 5 "Fords" as owning or renting property in 1852 for Abbeyfeale area, again these may or maynot be related (as uncle/father) to your John Ford
A similar search for King resulted in no Kings for Abbeyfeale, many from Monegay, Co Limerick and following is for Kerry. Duagh (Kingx1) and Brosna (Kingx2). Both Duagh and Brosna are close to Abbeyfeale
If I can be of any more assistance, just let me know.
Bye for now

Just looking at another query - Larkin Family
Could I bring your attantion to this query from Nancy Richardson.
She is looking for information on her great grandfather (born 1862) family whose parents were James Larkin and Johanna King.
May I suggest you contact this person on the remote possiblity that this Johanna King and your Mary King may be related. They could be sisters or first cousins or not related at all.
The only connection is they both had children in Abbeyfeale in 1860's
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for the suggestions. I think I am going to buy the rootsireland records as I think those are my best bet at this time. I saw the Griffiths Valuation and found a John Ford but in 1852 my John Ford would have been too young and no way to know if any of those other Fords listed would be his father.
Where there census records back that far? I only know of the 1901 and 1911 censuses. If there were older ones I could access online I might have some luck.
Also thanks for the tip on contacting the person looking for Johanna King. I will do that.
Regards
Vince
