My cousin and I will be visiting the area around Ballingarry, Granagh, Feenagh, Kilmore, Bruree, Athlacca where our DINNEEN's lived.

We would love to meet some local Dinneen/Dineen's if possible or be pointed out where to look for gravestones, houses etc.

I have previously posted genealogical information about our Dinneen ancestry on this site.

Michael DINNEEN is my gg grandfather born in about 1810, now I believe his father was James Dineen who in 1826 was a farmer in the Townland of Kilmore, in the parish of Ballingarry (Tithe Applotment Record). Michael Dinneen is recorded in the Ireland Valuation Office Book as living in Kilmore in 1849 and Griffith's Valuations in 1852 as being a miller in Kilmore.

  • Hi John!

If you have not done so already, could you complete this form   regarding your visit to Ireland in late December/January. I would suggest three different form submissions. I don't know if we have  a volunteer available in the three areas but our Administrator will let you know.

By the way, have you taken a general DNA test?

Thanks and have a great trip!
