Hi,
I found some information on a Ryan family from Bruree who emigrated to USA and thought I'd put it here in case someone finds it useful :)
David Ryan was born around 1835 in Cappanafarra (possibly spelt wrong)in Bruree.
His parents were likely to be Michael and Brigid.
David married Mary Kearney in 1865 in Effin parish and they had 11 children, Michael (1865), Ellen (1866), Brigid (1867), Mary (1869), Catherine (1870), David (1872), Hanora (1873), James (1874), Elizabeth (1876), Edmund (1877) and Margaret (1878).
David, Mary and 7 of their children arrived into New York in 1879 on the ship Montana.
The rest joined in 1885 on ship Wyoming.
They lived in Brooklyn up until around 1912 then I lost track of them after that. I did find out both David senior and junior died in 1888, Michael died in 1906, Ellen died in 1893 and Mary (nee Kearney) died in 1912. All are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Thanks for posting your Ryan family information. Hopefully others with connections will post a comment.
The townland is Cappanafaraha.
The Rockhill/Bruree RC records start in 1842 http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0871 I searched Roots Ireland for any other Ryan baptismal records in Bruree with father Michael and Mother Bridget but got no record.
The 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Bruree civil parish shows three Michael Ryan records, all in Bruree.
In case you were not aware, the Irish government has now provided the images of civil birth records from 1864-1915 for free at www.irishgenealogy.ie The registration district would be Kilmallock. You can get the records of all the children of David and Mary.

Thanks Roger,
I'll update my records with the proper spelling :)
I did manage to find all the Birth records for David and Mary's children except for Margaret, who was the youngest. Since Margaret was born less than a year before they left for New York I'd say either they didn't register her or did it on the way down to Queenstown.
