  • Hi Gabriel

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

It could be quite difficult to find out about Lewis as we do not know the parish. As you probably know, parish records begin at different times depending on the parish. Do you know what religion Lewis was? Have you already tried familysearch (a free site) or rootsireland (a subscription site) for further information on Lewis?

    Best wishes

  • I presume Lewis was Catholic.  His supposedly (Sylvester, Joseph etc.) ancestors in Limerick were Catholic.

Mary Duffy 1791, baptised St Michael & St John Dublin

Lewis married Mary Duffy 1803 St Michael & St John Dublin.  Their daughter Lucy baptised 1804, St Michael & St John.

There was a Lucy/Lucinda O'Halloran, post mistress Six Mile Bridge, she never married.  I thought Lewis may have named his daughter after her, around the same era.

I've tried Irish Genealogy, MyHeritage & FamilySearch.
