Hello XO Community,

I have been searching for the origins of brothers William Mulcahy b. abt. 1820, and Daniel b. abt. 1827. Very recently discovered another family member in local church records which very possibly is another brother - John Mulcahy b. abt. 1828. Immigrated to the USA. Do not know where William and John married, but Daniel was married in the USA. Wife's are: William - Margaret Kennedy; Daniel - Alice McMahon; John- Ellen Condon. William is my 3x gr grandfather.

Can not verify immigration dates, but it was between 1850 and 1860.  The only clue to their origins in Ireland is a daughter of Daniels stated on a US census form that her father was from 'Ireland, South'. I assume that means not Northern Ireland.

In the last couple of days I have been linked to a DNA match who has a Mulcahy grgr grandmother. This DNA match has a family record that states her grgr grandmother was from Castleconnell. We have three other shared matches that also link us to this Mulcahy female. Another DNA match has more information on this lady. According to his tree her name was Mary Mulcahy, and she was from Co. Limerick, married a John Fitzgerald in June 1858, had 14 children, and died in Clonkeen, Co. Limerick on Dec. 20th, 1914.

I'm wondering if this Mary Mulcahy Fitzgerald is a sister to the three Mulcahy men that immigrated to the USA? Perhaps there are still family members in the area, or someone can direct me to records that exist from the era to research this Mulcahy family.

Thank you for your time,

Kim Mulligan Bender
