I would be very interested to know if there are any members of the Mcnamara family that farmed I believe in or near Effin. The last owner I believe was Roger Mcnamara,who had a brother John who once lived in Herbertstown. John worked for Golden Vale creamery and was married to Marie nee Conway. My name is Terry Mcnamara I live in Shropshire ,I visited the farm about 30 years ago but have had no connection since. Hope someone can help?

We don't normally try to identify/contact people who are living for privacy reasons. However, if you go to the online Irish phone book site. Hit the Residential TAB and search for McNamara in Co. Limerick, the third record is the one you want.

There are no members of that family living in the parish.
I vaguely remember Roger McNamara and the house was in a passageway near a cross and today it is still called Mac's Cross. The house and farm are now owned by another person.
