The Tithe Applotment listings are found at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie I looked for records for Maurice Power in Co. Limerick and there were five listed but none in Galbally civil parish.

Well that has me more confused The only reason i concentrate on Galbally is that it was on the shipping list when they arrived here to Sydney  that was on Janes line Johns was Limerick as their native place I am assuming Jane was more specific.There was 1 entry for a Maurice & William maybe they were brothers but i have nothing on Maurice his parents or siblings.

 But never mind something will come up i have learnt a lot that I never knew b/4 just the tiniest bit of info gets me excited it seems to be a fact that Irish research is very difficult people have been telling me that for yrs but with people with the dedication you have to all us novices we are having a win well sort of. we are all very grateful to you.

There were Power's living over Lisvernane way in Aherlow who were weavers so would not have been listed in the Tithes applotment .. 

William is listed in the Griffith Valuation www.askaboutireland.ie 

There is a mention of Power on http://www.henneberry.org/galbally_church.htm which may be worth checking out as Powers were few in this area at this time - They  mainly residing in the nearby parish of Lattin .. 

As for Murphy - They are plentiful - let me do a little research to see which branch Jane is a common name with

Aherlow is a sister parish to Galbally, but is in county Tipperary, and  many from Aherlow refer to Galbally as their nearest village,,,,

Cordangan well it's 3 yrs since posting last have found a lot of my family (thanks to sites like this) but have struck a huge brick wall regarding my 3x gr grandmother Jane Murphy her mother was Ellen married John Murphy I am now looking for Ellen's maiden name to confirm If I have the right Ellen as her mother any feedback would be really appreciated Thankyou Cheryl Trousdale

Dear cheryl have a look at the martins in Galbally and powers from kilbehenny in tithes books. They are neighbouring parishes. My murphys came from both areas.  Tania Sweeney 

Thanks Tania will check them out my main aim is to find exactly who my 3xg/mother was.i found a tree on ancestry that had a Mary Heneby or similar as her mother but on the shipping records on arrival in Sydney in 1856 she disclosed that her native place in Ireland was Galbally her father was John her mother was Ellen both dead so naturally I can't accept that.

Ironically you are a Murphy my Jane was Murphy married John Power in 1847 Galbally Aherlow Parrish maybe you have some info on them both,I have no other info on her only her fathers name her birth 1824 there is a place mentioned Duntryleague where the power family came from apparently they lived there before coming here.anyway who knows ?? Anyhow thankyou for your response any info you have would b most appreciated
