About Kilbehenny, Co. Limerick
Kilbehenny or in Irish Cill Beitheanach means Church of Birchwood and is situated at the base of the pituresque Galty Mountains bordered by the River Funcheon. Its natural postion lends itself to an abundance of walking routes through the Galty Mountains and stunning picnic spots. The Community here is very active with a range of activities running right through the week all year round. The Community Council are in process of completing a new Community Centre in the heart of the community which will have showers and facilities for walkers and visitors to the area.
