My Great grandmother Mary Culhane (b- 1843) daughter of Thomas Culhane & Ellen O'Connor from Baraneige came to Victoria in 1865 and was married that same year to Jeremiah Seymour. We believe this to have been a 'match' made by her uncle Patrick O'Connor - who lived in Kilmore Victoria. Mary travelled with cousin James O'Shaughnessy.
A number of relatives came to victoria. I would like to connect with any one researching these lines and who may know living descendants.
Mary & Jeremiah Seymour has 12 children - 10 who lived and married. They have many descendants

Hello again Bernadette!
I searched Roots Ireland from 1838-1848 for a Mary Culhane baptismal record in Limerick with Father Thomas and got no record. Do you know the townland where the Culhanes lived? There are 20 or so Thomas Culhane's in the 1850 Griffiths but none appear to be in Kilcolman parish.
Have you considered autosomal DNA testing?

Hi Roger
thanks for your reply...2016 did not allow much time for family history.. unfortunatley.
I have found baptisms for Mary's siblings Patrick 1837. Margaret 1839. Catherine 1847. Patrick 1850. Thomas 1851. I have not found baptsims for Mary abt 1843 and her sister Bridget 1845.
Mary's uncle Patrick O'Connor was from Shannagolden - possible near Parkview - as this was the name of his property
As for DNA testing - I am hoping to get that doen soon
Regards Bernadette

Bernadette:
Welcome back!
I did some further searching and the townland is Bauraneag in Dunmoylan civil parish. The RC parish register is below. The index does not show any gaps in the 1840s so you may want to scan the register looking for Mary and Bridget.
