Thomas Meade - Kilpeacon, Limerick

Hello,

Do you have any additional information about the family? Names, dates, etc.?

I looked in the 1901 census, Griffith's Valuation, and the Tithe Applotments, but did not find any Meades in Kilpeacon.

I never heard of the name Meade in Kilpeacon the only Meade's that I know of are in Kilmallock and Chareville and they are the same family.

I have a Thomas Meade who could be from Kilpeacon. He joined the East India Company in May 1824. He traveled to India in 1827.

I have since found an army document which states - Thomas Meade, Private, born in the Parish of Kilpeaton in or near the Town of Limerick, in the county of Limerick by trade a labourer. Attested for the 1st Regiment of Foot at Limerick, in the county of Limerick on the 22nd May 1824 at the age of Fifteen.

I am unable to find the parish Kilpeaton on any maps or search results.
