Hello,
I'm trying to find where Eliza Dorgan was buried. She died on the 22nd of Aug, 1891. Attached is her death record.
Thank you for your help,

Hi Mary Jo,
The local graveyards at that stage did not keep burial records. It is also before obits or funeral annoucements in the newpapers so those avenues are closed to us. But just in case i did check in the newspaper archives and did not find anything.
I will list the graveyards local to Fortlands.
Cooliney

Holy Cross

Ballyhea/ Ballyhay

Holy Cross would be the closest to Fortlands, approximatly 1.5KM. Cooliney would be approximately 4 KM away. Ballyhea would be approx 5Km.
The only other suggestion that i could make is that if you knew where Eliza's own family were from, she could have returned there to be buried with her parents. This was the case wit my own great grandparents. It was common practice at the time.
My own feeling is that she is buried in HolyCross but there is no marker or headstone.
Another suggestion would be to reach out to Charleville Heritage society and ask them if thy know of any burial records. They may have come across the Dorgans in records given that Eliza's husband was a tailor. They are on Facebook.

I hope that helps
