My great great grandfather, Owen Houlihan (from Limerick) married Ellen Hannon (from Limerick) in 1844 in the Parish/District of Murroe & Boher (got this from rootsireland.ie.). Her name was identified as Haneen on the marriage record. Their children's birth records, her name was Hannon.
I was able to identify all their children, including my great great grandfather, Owen, due to Owen not being a very common last name.
Owen Jr. came to Chicago in 1887-1888, married Nora Wall, also from Limerick.
Owen Sr. was born around 1811 and died in 1894 (found his death record). Ellen was born around 1810 and died around 1892 (found her death record).
On some of the kids birth records, the witnesses were: Mary Hannon, Patrick Hannon and Richard Hannon, which I can only assume they were Ellen's siblings.
I would love to go back further on Owen Sr. and Ellen Houlihan (nee Hannon) from Limerick if I could. Does anyone have any information or possible matches?
Like I said before, I know Owen was not a common name back then, specifically in Limerick.
