Hi, Does anybody know if there are records retained of the Statutory Declaration forms when births were registered after the allowed legal time period for registration of a birth. If records were retained where would these records be found now. The period I'm interested in is 1915. Regards, Tom O'Toole

  • Tom,

You should try the Civil Registration office in St. Camillus Hospital, Shelbourne Road, Limerick.

The Registrar there may be able to assist you.  Phone: 35361326677.

  • I rang the Register at St. Camillus's and they referred me to the General Register Office (GRO) in Roscommon and was eventually transferred to a person who advised me that I really didn't need to know the information as all those people were dead and it didn't really matter. Eventually referred me back to Kilmallock to where the birth was registered without having answered the original question. Laughable that nobody in the GRO could answer the question.

  • Hi Tom

What a load of ''horse manure'' that is called ''send the fool further'' typical of what we hear from some Civil Servants. As a matter of interest several years ago I called to the health centre on the Railway road in Kilmallock and my query was answered no problem.
