Manasteranenagh general information:
Irish: Manister an Aonaigh meaning the monastery of the fair.
It is said that the parish derived its name after a fair which was held at the site in ancient times. The Monasteranenagh Cistercian Abbey ruins are still to be found here today and are in good repair. The main window frame of the church is still intact.
