Hello looking for family members of the Moran family. Specifically Thomas Moran who left limerick near the 1850's moving to Boston Massachusetts. His son was Patrick who fought in the civil war. There is much history after this but I cannot get any more records before Thomas left Ireland.

My great-great grandfather was Edward Moran born in 1830. I've been told he was born in Limerick. He immigrated to the United States and was living in Virginia by 1860. His wife was Catherine Dugan born in either Kilkenny or Ballcullane, I'm not sure which. I do not have information about the Morans or Dugans prior to this couple. I've hit a wall so to speak! I will have to see if I have found where they entered the U.S.
My information about my Morans may not help you find your Thomas but I thought it was worth a try.
