Shanahan Family Rathkeale

I do not know anything about the Shanahan's or Hayes, but I was wondering where in Illinois your ancestors settled.  My great grandfather Timothy Sullivan settled in Springfield, IL in the 1860's.where he married Ellen Ambrose from Ardagh, which is only a few miles from Rathkeale.  I am interested in knowing if there were other immigrants from Rathkeale who moved to Springfield.

My Shanahan family settled in Chicago around 1880. My great grandfather owned a tavern near the Stockyards on 49th and Halsted Street. I think that all of the Shanahans in Limerick are sonehow related.

Her mother was Margaret Shanahan born Lisnamuck, Croagh ( near Rathkeale )  June 1859

Her mother was Ellen Hayes , from Kildimo

Her father John Shanahan, Lisnamuck, Croagh, Co Limerick  see photo attached

Her brothers Patrick emigrated to USA in ??? and David in 1898 ( see Ellis Island 24 Apr 1898 going to 4909 Halstad St Chicago)

My grandmother was Margaret Shanahan born in Chicago June 10, 1899.

Her father was Patrick Shanahan from Rathkeale and her mother was Ellen Fitzgerald from Chicago.

Patrick owned a saloon at 4909 Halsted, Chicago..

I have little information on your grand-mother Margaret and no information on your family. To tell the truth, I have little information on the Shanahans in Limerick. My grand-mother shared some information with me but nothing on Margaret. I would be grateful for any information you can share.
