John Crawford & Frances West married abt 1821 and emigrated to Canada from County Longford abt 1822. A daughter Maryanne born abt 1822 remained in Ireland for some time.

Hello Ivy,
In order to progress you really need to establish from where in Longford the family came. The Tithe Applotment Books, 1823-'35 were compiled to show those landholders who were obliged to pay a tax, the tithe, to the Church of Ireland (Anglican), regardless of their denomination. There were several Crawford households throughout the county according to the index to the books.
There is a very useful online source, longfordancestry.net, maintained by Simon de Montfort, which may be helpful as it contains the fruits of about 30 years of his work on Longford families.
