My ancestors from Ardee include:
Michael O'Brien (bpt 23 Oct 1802 Ardee- 26 Nov 1876 Ardee) and Mary Bellew (c.1808 Navan?-17 Feb 1893 Stabannan); they had nine children baptized at the old St. Mary's Catholic Church: Michael (1840-1892), Mary, Anne, Cathrin (sic), Bridget, Teresa, Margaret, Ellen J., & Thomas. Michael was baptize in Ardee on 13 Sept 1840 and died in Ardee Workhouse on 25 Mar 1892. In 1840 family lived outside Ardee in Lissepin; by 1842 they lived at 66 John St. until moving to 13 Castle St. between mid-1853 and mid-1856.
At least Cathrin and Ellen J. emigrated to US. Cathrin arrive during Oct 1866, possibly with her older sister Mary and a 2-yr-old child Edward O'Brien. Cathrin married Jos. A. Huff in Phil., PA on Aug. 6, 1874 and died in Wash., D.C. on Dec. 23, 1918 during a flu pandemic. They had 5 children, only one, Mary Catherine (16 Nov 1875 Cumberland, MD-18 Dec 1944 Wash., DC), my paternal grandmother, lived to adulthood. Ellen arrived in US during June 1871. She married a Peter Kelly and settled in Chicago, IL; they had 11 children of whom 9 were alive during 1900 US census. Ellen died 20 Apr 1925 in Chicago. Have been unable to confirm/track Mary O'Brien in US.
Michael O'Brien (bpt 24 Oct 1770 Ardee - bef. 1864 Ardee) and Anne Mathews (c.1775 Ardee? - bef. 1864 Ardee?); eight children baptized in Ardee records: Mary, Anne, Catherine, Laurence, Michael, Thomas, Owen, & another Laurence.
