John McCourt born (Circa 1844) to Mary McKevitt and Michael McCourt they married on 6th Dec 1835 at Carlingford, Co Louth, she was the daughter of a Donald McKevat (surname given on her death cert 4 father) & Bridget Donnelly Michael McCourt was bc1815. Mary McKevitt was bc1817.. John was in Wigtown Scotland in 1861 working as a blacksmith.

I looked at the Roots Ireland indexes and located the 1835 marriage in the Carlingford RC church. I looked for the baptismal record for John but could not locate the record. I did find an 1836 baptism for a Anne McCourt with parents Michael and Mary.Kevitt (or variant spelling). The record was also in Carlingford RC church.
I also found two other McCourt baptismal records in the Dundalk RC church. There was a Mary in 1840 and an Alice in 1844. Parents were Michael and Mary but Kevitt did not match for the mothers surname. Possibly they were children from a different couple.
