Hi
I'm looking for information about my great great grandmother Margaret Ann Boylan who was born in Drogheda on 26th May 1860. I believe that she was baptised in Darver this same year.
Her father was James Boylan and her mother was Margaret Murphy.
Any information anyone could provide would be very much appreciated, I'd also be interested in getting in touch with any potential family in the area today.
There may also be links to Lurgangreen and Dundalk.
Best wishes
Anthony

Hello Anthony, I can find Margaret's baptism in Darver (no civil records pre 1864) she was the last of a number of children, Pat 1842; Cath 1846; Thomas 1851; Andrew 1856; John 1858 and your Margaret in 1860. If you wish you can view the actual entries here but can only search by month and year and a tricky read at times. https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0207
I am unsure as to why you think she was born in Drogheda and what source, Drogheda is about 18 miles south and was a major migration port to Liverpool so no passenger records from Ireland. I could not locate a marriage on Roots Ireland, but see in the parish records they are sparse.
If you Google in the book section there is a 1903 publication (reissued circa 1988) of the Kilsaran Union of Parishes and includes some Darver stuff. Lurgangreen appears to be located just south of Blackrock, Louth on the coast.
You may enjoy this site http://jbhall.clahs.ie/ on Louth. I can see no entry in Griffiths Valuation of 1854 that may be part of the family.
There is a Facebook page called Louth Genealogy, private but well moderated and it may be your best bet to locate living relatives, if you are thinking of Drogheda Down Memory Lane - Lost Family (not overly active pages) the sister site Drogehda Down Memory Lane much more busy but not really a genealogy source. If you have 10 spare minutes and interested in Drogheda there is video of old photos on Youtube called Ghosts of Drogheda.
Boylan is a name in the area, see 123 persons of that name in the 1901 census in Louth, mind you that is not a lot as there may be say 6 in each family, there are none that appear to live in Darver.
Please revert if you have further query.
Good Luck

Pat,
Thank you very much for taking the time to look for this. I did have the siblings down, but only 5 of them, so it's interesting that there is another.
The Drogheda thing came from a research friend of mine, but we were 100% on it. I think there may be some link to Lurgangreen near BlackRock. Not sure how big an area that is.ADaly

Rather we were not 100% on it.

Did you happen to spot anything regarding the Murphys?

Hi Anthony, I see a James Boylan marriage in 1846 in Darver but the wife appears to be Cahill or similiar, the registers are very faded to try and read or he was mean with the ink, also we found a child born in 1842. I also see a Margaret Murphy born in 1816 in Darver, father possibly Leonard and mother may be Sally McKenna, this would make the marriage age but about right if the last child was born in 1860, but that is a guess on my part.
By the way there is a famous Murphy born in Drogehda about 1803, he emigrated to St Louis, Missouri age 15 and was the main builder of covered wagons in the Wild West, they Murphy Wagons.
Also Lurgangreen does not turn up on maps but a search shows it up for house sales but also a survey of 1837 shows that 241 people living there https://www.libraryireland.com/topog/L/Lurgan-Green-Louth-Louth.php
