I need some help finding info on my great-great-great-grandparents

They are Patrick Lambe (Mar 1844 - Feb 5 1910) & Mary Lambe (nee Branagan) (Aug 1838 - Apr 18 1891)

They both got married on Feb 20 1876 in Drogheda

They had 3 chirldren:

Mary Margaret Lambe born Sep 1877 Scarlet St, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland

James Lambe born Dec 27 1878 Scarlet St, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland. Died Jan 12 1942 Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Windmill Rd, Moneymore, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland. He married Marcella McDonnell (Mar 2 1875 - Nov 15 1931) on Feb 10 1906 St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, West St, Downtown Drogheda, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland.

Mary Agnes Lambe born Dec 1883 Chord Road, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland. Died Jan 1920 Greenhills, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland

This is the thing on the 1901 census Patrick Lambe down as live in Kelly Lane (Fair Gate, Drogheda Town No. 1, Louth) with Agnes Lambe(Daughter), but there is a Kate Lambe down as Daughter and a Philip Lambe down as his son.

On the 1911 cenus Philip is down as Kate Lambe son. And on Agnes Lambe death record in 1920 he is down as Agnes bother.

I don't think she is a daughter of Patrick Lambe or Mary Branagan because the Census give the year she was born as 1871 and Philip Lambe was born Mar 20 1890 Workhouse, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland. His birth record list not father just Kate Lambe. Altought on his marrage record he list Patrick Lambe as his father. He married Bridget Heeney on Nov 16 1914 St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, West St, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland. He died on Oct 23 1933 Drogheda District Hospital, Drogheda, Ireland

I am trying to find out who Kate Lambe is. If any one could help me exending my tree to find out who Patrick Lambe Parents/grandparents and aunts/uncles are as I belive Kate Lambe is relate that way.

  • Reading the 1901 census, I would imagine that Kate Lambe was related to Patrick,  perhaps  a younger sister, who gave birth to Philip out of wedlock. Patrick's wife died and Kate moved in to his household to help with rearing the children and provide a home for Philip whom Patrick raised as his own son.

  • Patrick Lambe 's father is James Lambe according to his marriage cert and he was deceased at the time of the marriage of Patrick and Mary in 1867. There are 11 James Lambe death  records in the time frame 1864-1867 on the Irishgenealogy web site. Do you know where he lived or who he was married to?  The fact Patrick called his own son James is a tribute to his Dad.

  • It is also possible that Patrick Lambe was married twice and that Kate was his child with his first wife.

That would account for Patrick's next child not being born until 1877.
