Mary Galagher married Archibald McCambridge 27 Feb. 1852 at Termonfeckin Parish; witnessed by her parents Patrick and Bridget (aka Margarey Freel) Galagher.  Was Mary Galgher baptised at Termonfeckin?  Did her parents live in the parish in 1852?

Griffith's lists Mary, Bridget & Patrick Galagher in Cashel, South, Achonry, Sligo but I don't know if that is the right Galagher family.

  • Thank you for your efforts.  Yes, I've searched www.familysearch.org with no matching results.  I am also a member of www.gallagherclan.org and have shared my tree with them.  The clan gathering in Donegal will be quite an event but too far for me to travel.

  • Hi Rory asked me to check out the records in Termonfeckin - this is the info I got back from a local historian:

Parish records list the marriage of Archibald McCambridge and Mary Galaher (Queensborough?) on 29 02 1852. The witnesses were Patrick Galaher and Bridget Galaher which is the same as the family you mention in Griffiths in Sligo – Coincidence?? Probably not. There are no other Gallaghers mentioned or MCCambridges either in baptisms, marriages or deaths so they must have come from outside and not settled. There are Gallagher graves in Port and several in Drogheda, http://www.jbhall.freeservers.com/finlay_-_gray.htm.  No McCambridges anywhere in Co Louth.

Sorry that we have no more information  - If we can be of any more assistance please let me know.Good luck with the search.

    Regards
