I am hoping to find further information on my GGG Grandfather, Thomas Gaughan born I think in 1819.  He is listed in the Griffith Valuation as being in Treanoughter.

He had a son Anthony b. 1847 and a son Michael b. 1848. I do not have a mother for them and would like to find that out.

Michael is listed in Andrass  in the 1901 and 1911 census. His wife was Mary Goodwin and I believe she died in the late 1890's after the birth of their last daughter Margaret.  I am looking for a death date for her also.

  • Hello Stephen,

Thank you for that. I don't think the Michael you mentioned d.1926 is my GG Grandfather because the wife doesn't match up  but I see another Michael and his wife Mary of Ardrass which may be them. I will try to get more information but now I at least have a cemetary and grave lot number to go on.

    Thank You,

    Karen

  • I hope it's of some help. The parish records before the early 1900s are lost, so not sure where else I can direct you. There are a few Gauhans buried in our other graveyard in Killeen but they are later.
