Hello,
I have been researching my 2nd Great Grandfather James J Moran, born about 1843. His parents were John Moran and Bridget Brogan (at least those are listed on his Pennsylvania death certificate. He married Sarah Jane McHale but I do not know if they married in Ireland or in Pennsylvania. According to US Census records he immigrated about 1865. I recently discovered that his sister Bridget Moran was married to Anthony Frank Duffy from Backs. Bridget's death certificate lists John Moran and Bridge Coyne as her parents. Frank's parents were James Duffy and Mary Redington. I don't know if Bridget and Frank were married in Ireland or Pennsylvania. Other siblings of James and Bridget were Patrick and perhaps Cormac and Peter. All of these folks immigrated to Lackawanna County Pennsylvania in the late 1800s.
Any help would be appreciated.

The records for Backs RC parish do not begin until 1848 which would be too late for the baptismal record for James and I assume Bridget was born before 1848. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0738 I was also unable to locate either marriage record.
The 1856 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Ballynahaglish parish does show two John Moran records. Possibly one of the records was for the father of James and Bridget.
