Looking for links to Martin Conway and Bridget Barrett ..... they had a son Thomas Conway Crossmolina Mayo 1835
and another son William in 1938.
Thomas Conway is my Gt Gt Grandfather he married Ellen Doyle I know nothing about her or of their marriage????
Thomas may have had a cousin John Conroy (who's father was a James Conway). John married a Margaret Cannon in Killala, Mayo. They ended up in Rode Island, USA ........ and she was recorded on most Rode Island records as Margaret Canning.
John was sponsor for some of my grandmother's cousins (Elizabet and Christina Cox and Margaret Chamberlain from Dublin) to Rode Island between 1915 and 1922.
Any info on the above would be brilliant..... Thanks for your time!

Joe:
The subscription site Roots Ireland does have the 1835 and 1838 baptismal records for Thomas and William in Crossmolina. Unable to locate the marriage record. There are also at least eleven baptismal/birth records for children of John Conway and Margaret Cannon from 1868-1885. No marriage record because the Killala marriage records start in 1873 and I did not locate a civil marriage record.
Have you considered DNA testing?

Thanks for your reply Roger
I have baptisms records for Thomas and William……. I was wondering if there was any other brothers or sisters to them??
I have the marriage record for John and Margaret in 1867 (attached)…. And births of their children before they left Ireland for life in Rhode Island USA
Family tales say John set up some sort of travel or transport business in the states, can’t find any record of that??
And can’t find any death for John or his wife Margaret, but have found some deaths and marriages of their children.
As John’s dad was a James Conway, as is recorded on his marriage record, and Thomas and William’s dad was a Martin Conway, it’s the connection between both fathers I'm seeking.
As on one of the ship manifests for two of my grandmother's cousins going to the states, arriving in New York (Elizabet and Christina Cox) 1920, their sponsor is an Uncle John Conway, Manville, R.I.
Thomas Conway (wife Ellen Doyle), my Gt Gt grandfather was in the British army, some of his children were born in Cape of Goodhope, South Africa and Jersey his last child James was born in Ireland. This James would be my Great grandfather.
Thomas Conway and family after he finished in the army settled in Dublin, they are recorded on the 1901 Irish census.
